Inch By Inch: Measurement Lesson Plan
|
||
| Activities that can be incorporated into lesson. 1. Make a flip-card inchworm puppet by drawing a straight inchworm on one side and a humped-back inchworm on the other side. The inchworm appears to move when you rub the stick back-and-forth quickly between your hands. 2. Make inchworm puppets out of old green socks. 3. Make flannel board creatures in the story. Let students manipulate the pieces as they retell the story. 4. Read about inchworms in reference books. 5. Observe an inchworm in a glass container. 6. Make a board game with little paper inchworms to inch along the game pathway. 7. As a class, estimate lengths and distances in inchworms. 8. Have the students do a measurement word search. |
